Psalm 25:16: "Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted." Humans were made for each other. We were made to share in each other's joys and sorrows, laughter and heartaches. There can be times, though, when we feel like no one else understands us. We can feel abandoned, even by those we love. Thankfully, God has promised never to leave or forsake us. He is with us, when no one else is. The season of loneliness will not last forever, but in the midst of it, God will help us to rise above and rejoice in His constant, loving presence.

Faith-In-Action:
Loneliness is everywhere, but we don't talk about it too often. Perhaps that's because we've grown so accustomed to its weight that we've lost awareness of it altogether. Sometimes in life things seems off, but we attribute it to the weather or the stress du jour, and we try to shake it off with a good dinner or a night out on the town. But there it is again the next morning.
Relief comes only as we acknowledge our loneliness and turn to God and his Word for the help and understanding we need.
